Cuc Phuong
Situated 120 km south of Hanoi and 65km west of NInh Binh,
this area is home to Vietnam's first national park. Established with encouragement from Ho Chi Minh in 1962, the park
is one of the most accessible places to experience the country's diverse flora and fauna. The park is best known for its
Endangered Primate Rescue Centre, which rehabilitates rescued gibbons and langurs. Besides the wildlife visitors to the area are attracted by the trekking
opportunities ranging from short strolls to the chance to overnight in a stilt house in one of the many Muong villages in
the area.
