Ninh Binh Situated in the Red River Delta, 90 km south of Hanoi, lies
the historic town of Ninh Binh. The province of the same name not only contains many historically significant sights, but
also a stunning landscape dominated by the region's imposing karst hills. Just 11km north of the town is Hoa Lu, the capital
of Vietnam for 41 years under the Dinh and Le dynasties. The journey to this 10th century capital will take the
visitor through bustling villages and serene rice paddies. Here you will discover two beautiful temples constructed to commemorate
the dynasties, both built in the 17th century. Roughly 5 km to the south of Ninh Binh, on the Ngo Dong river, lies
Tam Coc or ‘three caves'. Sometimes referred to as ‘Halong Bay on land', for some its beauty surpasses
that of its coastal rival.

Kenh Ga
Isolated in a region dominated by water, the floating village
of Kenh Ga lies about 15 km north of Ninh Binh. The picturesque landscape and sight of locals rowing boats with their feet
make it a photographer's paradise. Roughly translated as "chicken canal", the village and the surrounding area
is home to many Catholics. The imposing cathedral of nearby Phat Diem, which is over a hundred years old, is testament to
this fact.
