Infamous in the 1960s as part of the ‘iron triangle' this area is located a mere 40km north west of HCMC.
Work on the resistance tunnels began in the 1940s, and they would be utilized by the Viet Minh and Viet Cong for a further
30 years. Indeed, it is said that the network of tunnels in the region stretched for over 200km at one time.
Visitors to the area can view sections of the modified tunnels
and gain an insight into how life was for local villagers and resistance fighters who used them. Exhibits include educational
displays featuring sleeping quarters, schools and hospitals. Further information on warfare in the region and the areas role
as a base for mounting operations on Saigon during the Tet offensive of 1968 will fascinate visitors.
